TWIIN Workshop for SMEs: Join us to discover innovation and funding opportunities available in the Tees Valley region
Join us for the two-day workshop, free-of-charge, taking place in-person at Fusion Hive, Teesside University (TU) - organised by the Net Zero Industry Innovation Centre (NZIIC) – a collaboration between long-standing research partners Teesside University and TWI – to help support SMEs in the Tees Valley region.
The workshop is designed exclusively for SMEs to address technological challenges and covers collaborative research and public funding opportunities available in the region. As well as this, the workshop will support businesses with their innovation needs and develop ideas into commercial products or services.
Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to interact with fellow SMEs, industrial and innovation experts from TU and TWI, and explore upcoming public funding opportunities. Delegates will also be able to engage with technical experts during a series of interactive sessions to discuss challenges and approaches to technology, and learn from a number of insightful speakers.
There are limited seats available and they will be allocated on a first come, first served basis when you book your place.
The first day of the workshop will guide you through the engagement, alignment and funding opportunities for SMEs as well as guidance on the TWI Innovation Network (TWIIN) and TU Innovation Centres, an overview of network support by TWI’s Technology Innovation Management (TIM), and an insight into successfully funded collaborative projects between TU and industry.
The second day will be dedicated to supporting collaborative research for public funding calls and interactive training sessions. The attendees will have the opportunity to develop their proposal writing skills, learn new techniques in order to win projects and also be guided through a technology road mapping exercise.

The workshop is organised exclusively for SMEs operating in the Tees Valley region.
This support provided is free-of-charge to the SMEs with thanks to financial and administrative contributions from Teesside University and Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA).
